In June of this year, the Roadster was put to the test by professional test driver Emile Bouret who confirmed the car’s powerful capabilities. “Those are not theoretical. Those are not calculations. We have done those numbers,” commented Bouret in reference to the car’s 0-60 mph in 1.9-seconds specs from November. “I probably shouldn’t say this,” added Bouret, “but those numbers are actually conservatives. It’s going to be a proper weapon.”
This supercar is designed to maximize aerodynamic engineering with performance and efficiency. The car also comes with a glass roof that seems like an extension of the windscreen and can be removed for a convertible driving experience. The Tesla Roadster comes equipped with a 200 kWh battery pack with an energy capacity for 620 mile range. It is also the first car to establish every performance record while accommodating 4 passengers. The car has all-wheel drive and torque steering.
Prices for the Roadsters start at $ 200,000 USD with availability beginning in 2020.
